In November 2005, members of the African People's Socialist Party traveled to West Africa to consolidate forces to the African Socialist International. They were met by the Africanist Movement, an organization of more than 70,000 forces that spans across 7 colonial microstates and led by Chernoh Alpha M. Bah. At a conference of the Africanist Movement, leaders from each of its regions signed a document joining the African Socialist International.
